INDIA (Integrated Development Initiatives & Alternatives Foundation) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organization registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975). The organization has been in operation since 1988 in different parts of Tamil Nadu. Over the years our focus areas, keeping in mind the needs and aspirations of the rural communities expanded to include poverty reduction, environmental restoration, community organization etc.
We envisage an integrated strategy to address the challenges of poverty, sanitation and underdevelopment as they are very closely linked. For more than two decades, NGO-INDIA promoted WASH (Water, Sanitation &Hygiene) in Rural India-winning accolades from the State and the Central Governments for our unique contributions. WASH in Schools (WinS) is our USP (unique selling product). We promote Children as Change agents to achieve the desired results.
To enable poor and the most vulnerable to have access to safe drinking water which is sustainable, sanitation and better hygiene practices, through community partnership by promotion of knowledge, skills, expertise and ownership.
