Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited extended its support for construction of Girl friendly, User-friendly Toilet blocks in Schools, Community Toilet complex and House hold latrines in Tiruvallur District. The following are the activities supported by CPCL.
Our organisation promoted all the Schools of Madukkarai Block, as WASH in School model schools.
The activity was funded by DRDA, Coimbatore District under the Comprehensive School Infrastructure
Development Scheme. The school heads, Teachers and students are also trained for promoting sanitation & hygiene in Schools
We Promoted Vazhukuparai Village Panchayat, Madhukkarai block as a Nirmal Gram, by Constructingm230 Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) and sensitising the community (2015-16). Activity was funded by DRDA, Coimbatore District.
A District level workshop programme was conducted for promoting Coimbatore District as an “Open defecation free” district. The District Collector formally inaugurated the programme. The heads of various departments participated and got clarified their roles and the activities to be undertaken by the departments to achieve the Goal.
Refurbishing 2 Toilet blocks as Girls-friendly blocks, refurbishing a Girls Toilet Block and improved the same with Menstrual Hygiene management facility, 3 Toilet blocks for boys were refurbished as user-friendly Toilet Blocks and Hand-washing facility in 2 different locations. Students and teachers trained for promoting sustained use and maintenance of WASH facilities. (2018)
Promoted 100 Primary Upper Primary, High & Higher Secondary Schools of Tirunelveli District as WASH in School(WinS) Models by undertaking various activities, including a District level training programme for the Educational officers and School heads.
Extended technical support and conducted capacity building activities for WASH in School activities of Ramanathapuram District. 110 Primary Upper Primary, High & Higher Secondary Schools of the district promoted as WASH in School (WinS) Models by undertaking various activities, including a District level training programme for the officials of SSA and School heads.
District Rural Development Agency, Vellore district extended its support to various activities including a District level workshop programme for promoting Vellore District as an Open defecation free (ODF) district.
As a follow up of the above, we conducted, “Training programmes at various levels”, for sensitizing the teachers, Panchayat Raj Institution Members, Department officials and staff, to achieve the goal of promoting Vellore as an ODF District.
